This program works to provide the early detection and intervention necessary for children to receive the care they need to build bright futures. Together we provide teacher trainings, vision screenings, optometrist exams, and free prescription glasses or free corrective treatments and surgeries when needed.
The Buy a Frame, Help a Child to See Program works with Seva program partners to provide comprehensive care to kids in need at no cost to their families. When a child receives a sight-saving service, their entire life is impacted. They are able to return to the classroom with the clear vision they need to succeed and thrive.
The central activities of the program include school vision screenings provided by ophthalmic nurses, secondary exams at partner hospitals for children who require further care, and education for teachers and families regarding conditions, treatments, and the importance of wearing glasses. Our program partners develop long-term relationships with schools to allow for annual student screenings, early detection and treatment, and monitoring the utilization of glasses.
