Seva Celebrates Half a Million Sight-Saving Services Donated by TOMS Eyewear

With its iconic "sell a pair, give a pair" philanthropy model, TOMS has been giving shoes to children in impoverished communities around the world for more than ten years. In 2011, founder Blake Mycoskie decided to expand. TOMS started an eyewear line and formed a partnership with Seva. Save the Date: World Sight Day is October 12th

World Sight Day, coming up on October 12th this year, brings international attention to the issues of blindness and visual impairment. Many of Seva's partners will mark the occasion with an extra push to reach people in need of sight-saving cataract surgery and other vision care. Around the world today, 285 million people are visually impaired, including 39 million who are blind. 90 percent of these people live in developing countries and low-income communities. This year's World Sight Day theme is "Make Vision Count." Seva is working to make our impact count, one sight-saving service at a time.
