In this year of Seva’s 40th anniversary and Ram Dass’s 87th birthday (on April 6), Ram Dass continues his selfless service to the family of humankind by sharing his reflections on the end of life through two new projects.
A new Netflix original documentary titled “Ram Dass, Going Home” will air April 6. Long-listed for the 2018 Academy Awards for Best Documentary Short Subject, this film profiles Ram Dass as he applies his teachings on death and dying to his own journey. “Make friends with change,” he counsels. “Death is change – just another one.”
In Walking Each Other Home: Conversations on Loving and Dying, slated for publication in September, Ram Dass and fellow Seva founder Mirabai Bush talk about what living a life committed to love, compassion, and service to others has taught them about death and dying. “I talk about our fear of death and ways to go beyond that fear,” Ram Dass explains, “so we can be identified with our spiritual selves and live more loving and meaningful lives.”
